30 Days of Colour Challenge Day 30 Swatchers Choice - Essie Tuck It In My Tux swatch & review

Today is the last day of Colour Swatch Challenge and I want to share my first Essie, Tuck It In My Tux which is a sheer ivory jelly.

The formula was difficult to work with. The first two coats went on streaky, but the third evened it out. As you can see, there was VNL but I personally didn't mind that.

Shown here is three coats in natural light. No top coat. Despite the tricky formula, I love the delicate/translucent look!

30 Days of Colour Challenge Day 28 Random - Cirque Thicker Than Water swatch & review

Hi again! Since Cirque is re-releasing Thicker Than Water from the limited edition Kontiki collection in their latest monthly collaboration with Nordstrom, I figured this would be a good time to finally swatch this polish.

Thicker Than Water is a green-leaning turquoise jelly with colour-shifting gold shimmer. Awesome formula that self-leveled perfectly. I expected myself to go gaga over it, but it just didn't work well with my skin tone. Not regrets buying this though since it's so unique!

In direct sunlight. Two coats without top coat. My nail line wasn't as visible as shown here in real life.

If you’d like to pick up Thicker Than Water, it will be available at Nordstrom.com and selected Nordstrom stores. Visit their site HERE for more information.

30 Days of Colour Challenge Day 27 Untried - OPI Do They Have This Color In Stockholm swatch & review

Hello! For Day 27, I decided to swatch OPI Do They Have This Color In Stockholm from the OPI Nordic Fall 2014 collection. When OPI released this collection last year, I had my eyes firmly set on My Dogsled is A Hybrid and this. I picked them up from my local OPI retail store as soon as I could, but for some reasons I haven't tried this polish out until now.

DTHTCiS is a cool-toned violet creme. Formula was nice - thin, smooth and very easy to control. I did three coats without base and top coat.

Indoor, natural lighting.

30 Days of Colour Challenge Day 22 Pastel - Orly Gumdrop swatch & review

Yes, I have another Orly to show you. It's highly possible that Orly is closing in on OPI as my favourite mainstream brand :P

Orly Gumdrop is the perfect tiffany blue. I don't usually wear pastels but this is so pretty and made me happy and I just fell hard for it.

Gumdrop is, hands down, one of the best pastels that I have tried. Pastels are known for being streaky and patchy, but Gumdrop has a smooth, creamy formula. I had no issues with application at all - two easy coats gave me full coverage. And the best part? It dried fast as well as glossy.

In natural light. Two thin coats over Dream Polish Smooth Gem Base Coat. No top coat.

30 Days of Colour Challenge Day 21 Neon - Orly Ablaze swatch & review

Hey all, my fill for today is Orly Ablaze, a neon coral with gold shimmer. I love this, it's so me! I love neons and this is so stunning with the gold shimmer. The formula was excellent - easy to work with and two coats gave me full opacity.

In direct sunlight.

30 Days of Colour Challenge Day 20 Matte - Pretty Serious Cosmetics Warp 11 swatch & review

Hey! For Day 20, I have Pretty Serious Cosmetics Warp 11 to show you!

Warp 11 is a pale blue textured glitter that dries matte - just perfect for winter. Although it is packed with glitter, it applied like a dream and two easy coats were all it needed for full coverage. Shown here is two coats without top coat.

In direct sunlight. So much sparkles!

30 Days of Colour Challenge Day 19 Vampy - OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest swatch & review

Hi! My fill for Day 19's prompt is OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest. This polish was released with the OPI Germany collection and has since been added to the core line.

Every Month Is Oktoberfest is blue-leaning purple with red/purple/gold shimmers. On the nail it's dark around the edges and has that lit-from-within look - so vampy and sexy! The formula was great and it covered in two easy coats.

In direct sunlight. Two coats with Rica Glossy Glam Top Coat.

30 Days of Colour Challenge Day 17 Shimmer - Cirque Midsummer Night

Hey all! This is my first fill for 30 Days of Colour Challenge, so I'm really excited!

Today's prompt is Shimmer, and I decided to share Cirque Midsummer Night, a cobalt blue jelly with red to green colour-shifting shimmer. I'm a big fan of blue polishes and this certainly holds a special place in my polish-lover heart.

In direct sunlight. I layered one coat of Midsummer Night over two coats of Nails Inc Baker Street.

Do you love this as much as I do?

SV by Sparkly Vernis Palm Trees At Night Spring 2015 Wrap Up

-Provided for honest review

SV by Sparkly Vernis Palm Trees At Night Spring 2015 consists of 5 new polishes, four of which are holos and one multicolored flakies topper. I've shared three on this blog.

From left to right: Breeze and Wave Sounds, E. huxleyi Bloom, Coral Reef. Be sure to check out my reviews by clicking on the links.

Application wise, they were all perfection. I only needed 2 thin coats to get full opacity, and rich, vibrant colour.

Breeze and Wave Sounds is my personal favourite. It packs a punch with the blue shimmer and the eyecatching green flash. So much depth! I couldn't stop staring my nails while wearing it.

For the stripe mani below, I used three of them (one coat each), one coat of Orly Mirrorball (as my base) with Dream Polish Smooth Gem Base Coat and Gem Glam Top Coat.

The Palm Trees at Night Spring 2015 collection from SV by Sparkly Vernis is now available at their store (yes they ship worldwide!). To stay up-to-date on their news, you may like/follow SV by Sparkly Vernis on instagram and Facebook.

The last one I want to show you from SV by Sparkly Vernis Palm Trees at Night Spring 2015 collection is E. huxleyi Bloom, named after a type of "freely drifting, photosynthesisingmicroscopic organisms that live in the upper, sunlit layers of the ocean". A medium turquoise linear holo, E. huxleyi Bloom is truly stunning in person. It's slighty dusty yet bright - I find shades like this soothing.

The formula is smooth and creamy, though a little on the thick side. Two coats here, but it was opaque in one thick coat. E. huxleyi Bloom applied effortlessly and had fast drying time. It dried a shade darker on the nails than it looks in the bottle. No staining upon removal.

Direct sunlight. Two coats over Dream Polish Smooth Gem Base Coat. No top coat. The holo-y goodness makes my heart sing!

Indoor natural light.

SV by Sparkly Vernis Breeze and Wave Sounds swatch & review

Breeze and Wave Sounds from SV by Sparkly Vernis' Spring 2015 collection is a dark cyan linear holo with blue shimmer. It also has a strong green flash that adds to the depth. Simply stunning. While it was difficult to capture Breeze and Wave Sounds, this polish won me over with its depth and complexity.

Smooth and creamy formula that glides on like butter. Almost opaque in one thick coat, but I used two thin coats instead. Like other polishes from SV, Breeze and Wave Sounds dried down quickly.

Due to the shimmer, removing it was tricky. I left the remover-soaked-cotton pads on my nails for about 20 seconds before firmly pressing down/wiping off. There was no staining but the shimmer was all over my cuticles and skin so I did it again.

Two coats over Dream Polish Smooth Gem Base Coat, topped with Dream Polish Gem Glam Top Coat. My camera couldn't pick up the real hue, so these have been colour-corrected to show a more accurate shade. Direct sunlight.

Indoor, natural light. One shade darker in real life and the green flash was much stronger.

SV by Sparkly Vernis Coral Reef swatch & review

Hi! Today I'll show you SV by Sparkly Vernis Coral Reef from their new Palm Trees at Night Spring 2015 collection.

Coral Reef is a warm dark pink linear holo with a touch of coral. It's an elegant, grown-up looking shade - perfect for spring for those who aren't that into pastels. I usually stay away from warm pink but that hint of coral makes it more wearable and flattering on me.

The formula was creamy and easy to apply. Coral Reef is very pigmented that one thick coat would have given full opacity but I used two coats here for depth. It dried to a matte finish that I absolutely love. Drying time was great and no staining upon removal.

In direct sunlight. Two coats over OPI Nail Envy. No top coat.

My camera picked up the slight coral in the following swatch.

Nail Inc Baker Street swatch & review

Nail Inc Baker Street is one of the polishes that I bought when I first got addicted to nail polish. Blue has always been one of my favourite shades, so it was a no brainer that I had to pick this up. And that Sherlock inspired name made it even better!

My swatches are color accurate. Though Baker Street is described as a cobalt blue creme, it isn't as eye-searing as I thought it would be. Still it provides a nice pop of colour. The formula was good, Baker Street had great consistency and the opacity was good. For a creme, it dried very quick.

Natural light. Shown here is two coats of Baker Street on its own.

I bought this at my local Sephora outlet.

OPI Can't Afjord Not To swatch & review

OPI Can't Afjord Not To is bright and loud, a shade that will instantly put you in an uplifting mood. I haven't worn this for a while and I still adore it this time around. Such a gorgeous shade!

The formula was excellent - smooth and creamy. Application was easy and it covered up in three coats.

Indirect sunlight. Three coats over OPI Nail Envy.
